Characterization of polymer layer swelling, crosslinking and collapse

- How to characterize polymer layers with QCM-D

Polymer brushes, which respond to changes in temperature, pH and ionic strength, is of great interest as surface coatings in for example biomedical applications. To be able to tailor the properties of the surface coating, it is important to assess and understand the characteristics and behavior of the polymer brush. In this application note we show how a polymer brush response to ambient changes can be characterized with QCM-D.
